These innovations include multiple energy recovery technologies, humidification, evaporative cooling, external unit isolation, aluminum checkerplate floors, gas phase filtration and finite element analysis on casing, structural components and on vibration modes in the structural base and floor.

Haakon provides Green Solutions for your project through water based paint with low VOC's, 100% recycled steel, and 100% recycled glass for fiberglass insulation. Their equipment has been installed extensively in LEED Gold and Platinum projects. Equipment can be made in the USA or with US steel. There are strategic plant locations to limit trucking costs and emissions (Kingston, ON and Spokane, WA). Efficient fans, motors, and components selections are utilized to optimize energy efficiency. Reduced component face velocities reduce overall pressure drop through the unit and reduces the required hp on the system. Haakon improved component spacing to reduce system effect losses. Insulated dampers are available in either aluminum or stainless steel construction. Washdown thermally broken casing construction and welded floor seams with integral water dam are available as options. 4" Heavy duty wall casing provides: leakage of 0.5" @ 10" w.g.; deflection of L/240 @ 10" w.g.; high insulating value of R-20; and low casing break-out noise.

Haakon units are easy to maintain because of these features: high quality industrial fans, multiple redundant fans where required; bolt on/bolt off fans; motor shaft grounding and accelerometers; spare motors and/or motor removal rails; high quality electrical panels; stainless steel coil racks; individually removable coils; double sloped stainless steel cleanable drain pans; stainless steel gratings over drain pan; washdown liner with floor drains in each section; filter ladders, vertical slide out filter racks.
